A big thank you to all the speakers at GGI2018 last weekend. There are fifteen lectures and three Panel Discussions at this year's Genetic Genealogy Ireland. And there are twenty people either speaking or appearing on the Expert Panels. GGI2018 takes place over the weekend of October 19 th -21 st 2018 at the RDS (Royal Dublin Society) in Ballsbridge, Dublin. Below is the final schedule for the DNA Lectures. These will take place upstairs in Dodder Suite 5A (the same room as in previous years) and will be well sign-posted from the floor of the exhibition hall (just follow the signs for DNA Lectures). It is planned to record the lectures and make them available on the Genetic Genealogy Ireland YouTube channel . A new lecture will be posted each few days following the end of the conference, so that by the end of November all the lectures will be available online. Once again, Gerard Corcoran (ISOGG Ireland Representative) has organised a fantastic agenda for our traditional ISOGG Day Out on the Monday after the conference (i.e. Monday Oct 22nd). This year we are visiting Genomics Medicine Ireland and the Harbour Innovation Campus. Places are limited to only 20 people and the GGI2018 speakers and volunteers on the FTDNA stand get first pick. Any places left available after that will be available on a first-come first served basis to ISOGG members. Genetic Genealogy Ireland returns to the RDS in Ballsbridge, Dublin from 19th to 21st October 2018.   Admission is free by simply registering at www.backtoourpast.ie . Once again the lectures are kindly sponsored by FamilyTreeDNA and organised by volunteers from ISOGG . And this year a whole new stream of lectures is being added to the lineup - privacy, data protection & ethics. This is a timely addition to the programme. The past year has seen the introduction of GDPR ( General Data Protection Regulation - the new EU law introduced on May 25th) and as a result there have been sweeping changes to privacy and data protection which have had a huge impact on the way all companies operate.
